The Aliveness Project provides the public with free HIV tests. In addition to paid staff, it operates through volunteers, a huge part of the success of its programs. Between 30 and 40 onsite volunteers come to The Aliveness Project each week. They serve as receptionists, office assistants, and kitchen crew, or offer their particular skills. In addition to onsite volunteering, there are several other ways to support the Project’s programs. One of these is the Red Ribbon Ride.
The Red Ribbon Ride is an annual fundraising event that runs for two days. Bikers participate in a 150-mile ride through the Minnesotan wilderness. The event is a perfect way to enjoy Minnesota’s natural beauty while helping the cause. Each registered participant is to raise $1.500 as a personal goal. To help reach it, riders can set up their own fundraising pages, start a team, or join an existing one.
The next Red Ribbon Ride is tentatively scheduled on August 19-21. The 2022 edition of the event will benefit not only The Aliveness Project, but also One Heartland and the Rural AIDS Action Network, all serving people living with HIV/AIDS in Minnesota. Interested bikers may register now through The Red Ribbon Ride website.
